The government on July 9 asked private sector banks to step up efforts to push financial inclusion across the country.

In a meeting with bank chiefs, the DFS secretary reviewed private sector banks’ performance and participation in furthering the cause of financial inclusion.

In the meeting, the DFS secretary asked banks to target marginalised segments of the society to fulfil their banking needs.

In the meeting, a detailed presentation on features of Jan Samarth portal was made. The portal presents information of credit-linked schemes of the government on a single platform.
