RBI reallocates portfolios of deputy governors post Michael Patra’s exit

The RBI on January 14 said it has reshuffled the portfolios of deputy governors following the retirement of deputy governor Michael Patra from the office.

The monetary policy department, which was handled by Patra, has been allocated to M Rajeshwar Rao. Rao will also handle portfolios such Co-ordination, Department of Communication, Department of Economic and Policy Research, Department of Regulation, Department of Statistics and Information Management and  Enforcement Department among others.

Also, Rao will handle International Department, Legal Department, Monetary Policy Department, Risk Monitoring Department and Secretary’s Department.

T Rabisankar will handle Central Security Cell, Department of Currency Management, Department of External Investments & Operations, Department of Government and Bank Accounts and Department of Information Technology, among others.

Also,  Swaminathan Janakiraman will handle Department of Supervision, Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation, Financial Inclusion and Development Department, Financial Stability Department and Inspection Department.
