Keerthana Finserv MD Reddy donates Rs5 lakhs to Aadi Shankar treatment fund

Padmaja Reddy, microfinance industry veteran who founded Spandana Sphoorty Financial and presently the Managing Director of Keertana Finserv Pvt Ltd, has donated Rs five lakh rupees for the treatment fund of a 9-year old boy from Thrissur in Kerala suffering from a rare illness.

Aadi Sankar, son of Chandresh, Manakkalath House, Velappaya, Thrissur is suffering from Hyper IG E Syndrom, which severely impacts the immunity of the body. The treatment will require around Rs45 lakhs.

Reddy donated the amount following a request from a committee constituted in the name—Aadi Sankar Chikitsa Samiti, under the chairpersonship of Avanur Panchayath President Thankamani Sankunni, ward member Manikantan I. R and others.

Reddy founded Spandana Sphoorty Financial Limited, took it from a humble not-for-profit beginning to one of the largest MFIs in the country. She scripted a turnaround story of Spandana which went in CDR post 2010 Microfinance crisis, by reviving it and taking it to IPO in less than two years.

Reddy has over 24 years of experience in financial services and Development domains. She holds a master’s degree in Business Administration and has pursued trainings on Microfinance from Naropa University, Durham University Business School and Harvard Business School.
